Horror in Nashville

Thanks to our gracious GPS Navigation hostess the short journey to The Nashville Convention Center was aesthetic and seamless. Oh Just a note: The parking downtown is abundant, economical and convenient.

Upon entering the Convention Center Friday afternoon we were instantly plunged into a river of chaotic “Anime.” After the initial shock wore off Karen and I quickly realized “The Full Moon Tattoo & Horror Festival” wasn’t the only festivities going on at the center that weekend. (If you’re not familiar with “Anime festival” It’s basically a Japanese Animation costume party, encompassing many genre.)

Anyway emerging from the river we began battling a few warlords, elves and I don’t really know what’s to finally make it down the stairs to the lower level. We we’re abruptly greeted by a long line of tattoo & horror buffs all needing entry passes as we did. The line flowed nicely I’ll sincerely say! “Oh look Karen” I said “there’s a cool Zombie take my pic!” (That wasn’t the last time I uttered that request either.)

Staggering into the Hall (behind the Zombie of course) we we’re immediately distracted by all the commotion to our left! It was Celebrity row and standing 30 ft away was my Holy Grail of the event. The crossbow wielding Zombie slayer from “The Walking Dead” Norman Reedus ..Aka Darryl. There were a lot of celebs in attendance Tony Todd ..AKA Candy Man, Madison Lintz ..AKA Sophia, Ace Freely from …Kiss, to mention a few. We went quickly went to the Celeb Photo op’s booth and “got our Holy Grail” reasonably priced at $35 for 2 celebs.

The alcohol was pricey but we indulged in several rounds as we toured the rest of the festival. They had about anything you desired including an ample supply of Miller Lite also Vodka & Cranberry, our personal preferables.

The symphony of Tattoo artisans working in unison, was a sound we both mentioned to each other as we explored the eclectic displays of photo art at each booth. Observing each unique individual artist’s performance along the way was mesmerizing!

Karen and I have some Delicious memories of our 3 day weekend in the Music City besides the festival we took a ghost tour of downtown,
